Lambeth Palace Residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury
Lambeth Palace is the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury and has been so since the 13th Century. It is the home of the Welby family when in London and also acts as the central office for the Archbishop and his national and international ministry. The Great Hall at Lambeth Palace currently houses much of the Lambeth Palace Library which is the official historic library and record office of the Archbishops of Canterbury and the principal repository of the documentary history of the Church of England.
The books have been freely available to research since 1610 and these refurbishments will ensure this continues to be the case for many years to come.
As part of the refurbishment MIES installed a new LED lighting scheme, upgraded distribution systems, underfloor heating and Energy Conservation System.
