RAD Building, UoN University of Nottingham
MIES have successfully secured our third D&B project at the University of Nottingham within 12 months.
After successfully delivering the Ingenuity Centre on the Jubilee Campus at the end of 2016, we have gone on to secure the New Teaching & Learning Hub on the University Park Campus and now the RAD Building, again on the Jubilee Campus.
The Research Acceleration and Demonstration (RAD) Building will house various research groups as part of the Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) initiative providing them with laboratory space as well as office and breakout space for academics and post graduate students.
The building is being designed to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellentʼ as well as being one the first ‘Passivhausʼ projects in the UK giving significantly reduced energy requirements. Design work will commence in February and will include the production of a REVIT model as well as a Passivhaus model.
The RAD Building project will see MIES working again with Robert Woodhead as well as CPW Nottingham.
